Ever since I got a Cricut, I must admit that I personalize and label everything. I’m talking, EVERYTHING. I love that I can personalize gifts with a meaningful quote or just elevate something to make it look like a higher-end gift.

Personalizing a tea towel is a quick and easy project that can be given as a set or to supplement other gift items. These are great year-round and for any occasion.

Supplies Needed

It doesn’t take much to personalize a tea towel.

tea towels – look for a nice, dense weave cotton towel. Quite often these are known as flour sack towels. As well, be sure to check out the Hildegun Tea Towel from Ikea – you can’t beat the price of these.
Cricut machine to cut the heat transfer vinyl. I use the Cricut Maker
heat transfer vinyl in your choice of colour. I used regular HTV. You could use stretch HTV, but I didn’t see the need for stretch and besides, it’s more expensive.

How to Personalize a Tea Towel

First off, determine your graphic. There are a number of designs available online, as well as in Cricut Design Space.
Next, cut out your graphic in heat transfer vinyl. Don’t forget to mirror! For details on HTV, check out my post All About Heat Transfer Vinyl.
Finally, apply to your tea towel, using either a heat press or the Cricut Easy Press.
