Barry Westie Amigurumi | Free Crochet Pattern

Sharing is caring!

During the summer, while away with my kids, I was very fortunate to have friends step up and dog-sit Barry for us. One such family had two daughters who loved Barry to pieces. As a thank you, I came up with a Barry Westie amigurumi pattern to give as a token of thanks.

barry westie amigurumi

This is a very basic, simple design that focuses mainly primarily on the face of Barry but it is still complete with a body.

For this pattern you will need:

  • white yarn (I used Impeccable and Red Heart Soft but any category 4 weight yarn will do)
  • 3.5 mm hook (you can go smaller, it will just result in a smaller end product; and vice versa)
  • safety eyes – 9mm, black
  • safety nose – these are triangular in shape; I got mine at Daiso but in a pinch another safety eye will work too
  • stitch marker – this pattern is done in rounds and you will need to mark the beginning of each row in order to keep track
  • needle for sewing
  • stuffing

Abbreviations

  • sc – single crochet
  • 2sc – work 2 single crochets into the same stitch
  • dec – single crochet 2 stitches together
  • 3 dec – single crochet 3 stitches together
  • sl st – slip stitch

This Westie amigurumi is not too complicated and it is just the right size. I can’t wait to give them to the girls who helped look after Barry this past summer. I think these look just like Barry. If you make one, please be sure to tag me at #wcoastmom so that I can see it.
