First off, Happy Thanksgiving to all my American readers. I hope you had a great day with family and friends. I hope your tummies are full too! Here in Canada, we celebrated Thanksgiving last month, but we do look forward to Black Friday. It used to be just an American sale, but now in Canada, I find that there are lots of ads for Black Friday sales too.
I’ll be updating this post all weekend long – right into Cyber Monday. So keep checking back for the deals.
Cricut Website Deals
Black Friday has traditionally been a good time to purchase a Cricut. Think of getting into Cricut crafting? Now’s a good time – just in time for Christmas too! Here are some great Cricut deals from the website.
The Cricut website has great deals on the Explore Air 2, the Maker and the Easy Press. They offer free shipping on orders $100+. If you’re just starting out, consider one of the bundles as it comes with the tools and some supplies to get you started.
Joann has a doorbuster deal on a lilac Cricut Maker bundle. There’s also an Explore Air 2 bundle in Wild Rose that is on sale. Prices for only the maker or the Air 2 are the same as Amazon and the Cricut website. Cricut accessories are also on sale.
Amazon Deals
Amazon also has some great Cricut deals –
Cricut Explore Air 2 – same price as the Cricut website. Check out all the pretty colours!
Cricut Easy Press 6×7 – this is a great size for smaller items for babies like onesies and stuffies. I love the raspberry colour. The 9×9 Easy Press is what I have and great for making shirts and pillows.
Also a good deal is the Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit. This is great for paper crafts and card making. I know I haven’t used my Sizzix to the best of its potential. I think I’ll focus on some paper crafts in the new year.
Sewing Pattern Deals
Many sewing pattern sites are having Black Friday Sales. Check out some of my favourites:
New Horizons Designs – This site is offering 50% off with the code BLACKFRIDAY. My favourite patterns include Carita Joggers, Portlander Pants, Melbourne Top and Dress, Pierside Pencil Skirt, Summit Hoodie, Knoxville Top
GreenStyle Creations – has 40% off their patterns with code thankful2019 and 10-15% off their fabrics (no code needed). Want to sew your own lululemon? You have to check this out. Pattern recommendations include Super G Tights, Stride Tights, Moxie Shorts, Tie Back Tank, Pacific Pullover, Staple Tank and the Iron Joggers for Men.
Menta Sewing Patterns – has 30% off sitewide from November 29 – December 1 using the code BLACKFRIDAY19. I’ve been dying to try the baby wrap shoe. Can’t wait to sew some of these up for the next baby shower.
Sewing Fabric Sales
Of course, we are going to need fabric for all those patterns! Here are some Black Friday deals.
- Joanne’s – well they kind of always have sales, but this is definitely a good place to start, especially if you like to go to an actual store and feel all the fabrics.
- Hobby Lobby – typically has good fabric sales, as well as yarn sales.
- So Sew English has 20% off their website. So many great fabrics here – be sure to check out the super plush and the velvet plush. Lots of great Christmas fabrics too – dogs and gnomes (not together!).
- Boho Fabrics has 25% off their website. The recently got the most amazing stock of brushed waffle fabrics.
Canadian Black Friday Deals
I know – many of the above are for Americans. If you are able to drive down this weekend, great. If you have a U.S. address, great. But what about those who don’t?
Lucky for us, Michaels Canada has some great deals in their flyer. Here are a few highlights:
- 55% off one single item, Friday through Sunday (that’s 3 days!)
- 60% off some Christmas decor, including ornaments, stems and ribbon
- Cricut Explore Air 2 in Candy Red – this deal is better (after the exchange) than what is on the Cricut website, as well as Amazon!
- Siser HTV and Oracal 651 and 631 sheets – not the best deal, but a decent sale; if you’re in a pinch, why not?
- Value Pack Cardstock is BOGO
- Glass ornaments – great for personalizing. Check out my post here.
- stockings and tree skirts are 50% off. Be sure to customize these using HTV – check out my post here on how to personalize a tree skirt.
Other Deals Too Good Not to Share
Okay, so some of these aren’t exactly for crafting, but they are good deals and I just had to share.
Instant Pot on Amazon – while I’m busy crafting, this is busy making dinner!
Google Home Nest Hub – yes, we are a google home and I’ve been eying the nest hub – this is the best deal I’ve found so far. I really want the Nest Hello Doorbell – if you see a deal on that, be sure to let me know.
I’m still looking for some good sales for knitters and crocheters. If you come across any, please let me know.
Stay tuned for further updates to this post. As sales arise, I’ll be adding them to this!
Hi! For the Carita shorts, did you make any mods other than cutting them shorter? They look great. Thanks!
Hi! All I did was simply shorten them to the inseam I wanted. So easy!
