Scrabble tiles are great for crafting. You don’t need a Cricut or vinyl. You don’t need to have great handwriting. The letters are there for you.
Where to Get Scrabble Tiles
Before making this craft, I didn’t realize that you can buy just the scrabble tiles online. This makes the craft really easy. I personally can’t tell the difference between these crafting ones and the real ones with the game.
Check out second-hand stores for the game as well. Or perhaps you have a game at home but are missing some tiles. Regardless, the rest of the tiles you can use for crafting!
Along with the scrabble tiles, you’ll need some ribbon, twine and a glue gun. That’s it! This is a very easy craft that would be a great activity with kids.
How to Make an Easy Scrabble Tile Ornament
First, you need to decide what you want the ornament to say. You can consider names or keywords. As long as you have the tiles and you can spell them, you can make an ornament.
Cut a length of ribbon at least 3 inches longer than the length of the word you are creating. When in doubt, cut longer than you need. You can also make this without cutting the ribbon until the very end as we will be working from the bottom up.
This Christmas ornament was quick and easy and looks great. Imagine all the different words you could spell for the holidays with a big bag of tiles and a roll of ribbon!
