Quick and Easy, Last Minute Gift Tags
Christmas is almost here! I’ve finally finished my orders and the presents are under the tree. I can finally take a breath and relax. The last thing I needed to do was label some orders and gifts. I needed to make some quick and easy gift tags and so I turned to my Cricut for help.
Now there are lots of lovely and beautiful gift tags out there when you search Pinterest, but being the end of my Christmas crafting, I wanted something super easy but still looked nice.
This gift tag is super easy – you just need a few elements to make it.
- Upload a basic tag shape. There are lots on-line – be sure to upload it as a cut file.
- In the shapes feature, add a star
- Using the write feature on Design Space, add in the “To:” and “From:”
TIP: I don’t subscribe to Cricut’s Access and so I don’t have any “writing fonts”. You can purchase fonts for writing. If you use a regular font, the software defaults to outlining the letters, as opposed to actually writing them. You can, however, get around this by choosing a skinny/narrow font and so when it outlines it, it just comes out a bit thicker. For my gift tags, the skinny font I chose was aptly named “The Skinny” and can be found on dafont.com for free.
To make these tags, insert a pen to do the writing and then let the machine cut it out. I used a nice piece of red cardstock – but really, any colour will do. Within minutes you can have a bunch of nice, holiday gift tags.
For my last order, I decided to add the gift tags so that it would make gift giving easy. The tags aren’t very complex or fancy but I think they look really nice.
Next year I hope to be a bit more organized ahead of time and design something a little fancier, but for now, I would say that these gift tags will do nicely.
