Crochet Slipper Boots | Pattern Review

Sharing is caring!

Yesterday for Day 6, I featured the bear blanket pattern that I made from Bernat Blanket Yarn. After that project, I had a fair amount of yarn leftover. So here is how to crochet slipper boots for Day 7 of my 12 Days of Christmas.

Being so thick and plush, it takes up a lot of room. Who knows whether I will do another one soon and I don’t really have a lot of space to keep excess yarn around, “just in case”. In hindsight, I don’t know why I bought a skein of the dark brown – it was only used for the eyes and nose. I hardly used any of it. So I had all these leftover partial skeins.

I thought about other uses for this yarn. My first thought was to make cushion covers. It’s so soft and cozy – that would be great I think. But then I saw a picture on a crochet Facebook page of someone making slippers with the yarn.

Pattern for Crochet Slipper Boots

The pattern used is by the Lavender Chair and can be found here. The example used the vintage white at the top. They totally remind me of Uggs. I like the boot style as they seem to stay on your feet more. So I ended up making pairs for my mother, my best friend and my boys. They are certainly cozy. My one concern would be that they could potentially be a bit slippery. They’re great when you’re lounging around watching TV.

The pattern is easy to follow and with the thick yarn, they work up quickly. I did size down a hook size for the ankle part as I prefer to have a more snug fit there so that they don’t slip off. I didn’t have enough leftover to make a cushion cover, but if ever I use this yarn again and have leftovers, you know what I will be making.
