How to Make Super Easy Bookmarks Using Fold Over Elastic

Sharing is caring!

You may have seen how easy it was to make headbands with fold-over elastic. Now simply make them a bit bigger and longer and you make these super easy bookmarks using fold-over elastic.

Bookmarks are sometimes elusive to me. I put them down and lose them. Or they fall out of my book and I have to figure out where I am. Sometimes I use a post-it note, but it’s a waste of a post-it note.

So why not make these super easy bookmarks using fold-over elastic? What I love is that they stay with the book. Make them snug enough to stay on the book while you are reading and replace them when you put your book down.

How to Make Bookmarks Using Fold Over Elastic

You can easily make bookmarks using fold-over elastic in the exact same way you made headbands.

Simply cut the length you need and tie it in a knot. The length you need may be determined by your book, but remember that they do stretch a lot.

Do you know what else these work great for? My Happy Planner! I used to use one of those magnetic bookmarks, but is typically covered up something that I wanted to see. Although the fold-over elastic also covers part of the page – it is much thinner and it is easier to slide over to move out of the way.

For my mini planner, I used 15 inches of fold over elastic.

For my classic planner, I used 18 inches of fold over elastic.

Whether you use them for books or your planner, you can easily change up the look by changing the fold over elastic.

These are seriously the easiest and quickest crafts I’ve ever done. You can even do these with kids.

These not only work for my planner but would also work for a novel or a binder – it all depends on your needs. Simply cut the length you require and you’re good to go!
