Free Content and Care Labels for your Homemade Items
A lot of my knit and crochet work tends to be given as gifts or sold. I like to include some sort of information about me and the work with it so I came up with these content and care labels.

Last week you saw that I had gotten a Cricut and was using that to make some tags as I wanted to up my branding. You can read about that blog post here. But I didn’t always have a Cricut and I know not everyone has one. Before I got the Cricut I relied on making tags and labels using Microsoft Word.
I designed my business card to double as a tag, so I kept it quite general. Sticker labels on the back can be added to provide more information. This way, your item not only has your name and contact information but also gives the recipient information about your item. I designed these content and care labels to fit on the back of business cards. They list the possible materials, as well as care information. I made them general so that they would work for pretty much anything and all you have to do is check off the appropriate items. I also wanted something that would work for either knit or crochet, as I do both.
These tags are designed to fit Avery Easy Peel Mailing Labels. This is a basic, white mailing label that measures 2 5/8 x 1 and the number on the box is 5160. You can find these labels at this Amazon affiliate link here:
There are 30 labels per sheet, so there are quite a few when you print them by the sheet. There are also clear labels that would work as well. Despite using an Avery template on Word, I still had to tweak the margins to get it to fit just right. I wasted a couple of sheets because the top line was partially cut off. There is a lot of information that I put on the label so it is quite full. These may work on other, similarly-sized labels, but I haven’t tried it. Again, you may have to tweak it a bit to get it print on the labels correctly.

I also made a larger version that would work well as a sticker applied directly to your packaging. As it is a larger label, the font size is bigger and so it is easier to read.
These were designed for Avery 5163 labels that measure 4 x 2. These are bigger than a standard business card, so it won’t work on the back but they work great for your packaging. You can find the labels on this affiliate link here:

These sticker labels make a great addition to not only gifts and orders, but also for those of you that work at craft fairs.
If you would rather that I print these labels out for you, I offer the same printed labels in my Etsy shop. You can find that by clicking here.
I have made other printables which I am in the process of making into PDFs and offering here in future. I’ll also share tips and ideas about packaging. Do have any labels that you would like to see?
Done with such class!
Thank you!
